At CAPS we focus on helping learners and their families living in some of the toughest situations within East Cheshire, Cheshire West & Chester, Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire. The work we do is aimed at helping learners to turn their life around by providing the support, skills and knowledge they require to be able to thrive in today’s society.
We know having a lack of education leads to an increased likelihood that a learner will experience high levels of deprivation and unemployment in their future endeavours; our fundamental aim is to ensure we reduce a learner’s life-chance of becoming NEET through giving learners ‘In Virtue Autem Succedant’ – the power to succeed.
CAPS learners begin by building a foundation of success through a personalised programme of study, removing obstacles and barriers to learning that they may have experienced in the past. In completing this tailored programme of study, it affords learners opportunities to expose, and close, knowledge gaps whilst also learning new skills and allowing them to take full advantage of skills and qualifications they may already have.
Our promise to you is that, unlike other provisions, all our learners are taught by fully-qualified teachers in every lesson they attend.
All CAPS learners benefit, through their experience, of our early-intervention strategies which we incorporate in tandem with our ‘self-modification’ disciplinary approach; this focuses on learner-led de-escalation allowing the learner every opportunity to address a negative situation.
I am proud to say that our school is ready to embrace the opportunity to deliver a wide range of tailored services, putting the individual needs of our learners at the heart of every-thing we do.
